Comcast would contribute about $15 billion for the stake — $5 billion to $7 billion in cash and the rest by giving its cable networks such as E! and Style to an NBC Universal joint venture with GE. The new NBC Universal would carry $8 billion to $10 billion of debt and operate under Comcast as its majority owner. CEO Jeff Zucker would report to Comcast's chief operating officer, Steve Burke, a former president of ABC Broadcasting at Walt Disney Co.

While Bill Gates looked on, Microsoft shareholders asked CEO Steve Ballmer about Apple at their annual meeting this morning . Steve's CEO-speak responses illustrate the larger problem. Portfolio reports that one investor asked about the company's reputation with young customers: "I'm just wondering why your marketing group can't do something to try to rein in this next generation, because you've got a real bad image out there."

Microsoft's CEO Steve Ballmer was on hand for the company's annual shareholder's meeting in Washington, and news of Windows 7 sales came up right away. While delivering the opening remarks, Ballmer said that Microsoft has sold twice as many copies of Win 7 as any previous OS in a comparable time frame. Though no actual numbers were mentioned, the good news is not completely unexpected giving the pre-order figures were through the roof .  

Brooke Hundley , having not spoken outside of Good Morning America since news of her affair with Steve Phillips went public, broke her "media silence" last night. On Facebook of all places. The former ESPN employee apparently answered friend requests from multiple bloggers in an affirmative fashion and -- perhaps coincidentally -- shortly thereafter launched into a mini-tirade against the World Wide Leader for not returning the personal and work items from her cubicle in Bristol.
